Previous Internships

Report of previous interns at Predori

Predori GmbH specialises in the development and improvement of patent searches through the use of AI technology. While Swarnadipta‘s area of responsibility was the creation of marketing materials, Verusca‘s area of work was lead generation in the sales department. Both were able to gain insights into the dynamic start-up culture by working with the experienced team. The internship at Founders Space not only offered a warm welcome with a Bavarian breakfast, but also enabled cultural discoveries in Neu-Ulm and Ulm. Verusca writes in her internship report: „During my internship, I learnt how important effective communication is in the sales industry. Working with my team, I learnt how to craft compelling messages that not only highlight the value of our services, but also address the specific needs of each potential customer. This skill allowed me to have meaningful conversations and make initial contacts that laid the foundation for potential business partnerships.“ Swarnadipta was equally enthusiastic: „This internship has significantly improved both my hard and soft skills. It provided an interesting opportunity to learn a new culture while enhancing my marketing skills and personal growth. I wholeheartedly recommend this opportunity to anyone looking to develop as a marketing professional in a new culture.“

Report of previous interns at OM Luxury Fashion

2024: In August-September Javiera Escobar Torres and Andrés Raby from the Escuelas de Pregrado – Facultad de Economía y Negocios (FEN) U. de Chile had the opportunity to experience the dynamic startup environment at the HNU FOUNDERS SPACE as interns at OM Luxury Fashion. They were supported by our project ISUL.

Andrés worked on developing the company’s financial plan: “I found myself constantly debating on how to correctly understand future production costs, revenue streams, and investments along with the other members of the team and discussing the different approaches the company can do for its market entry” He adds, “I am thankful for the opportunity given to me by Simone Brzoska, founder of OM Luxury and the International Startup League (ISUL) of the Hochschule Neu-Ulm.”

Javiera recalls, “I learned to thrive in an environment where flexibility is crucial, and the ability to pivot and meet tight deadlines is essential for success. This experience pushed me to grow not only as a professional but also as an individual.” One thing she appreciated was that the company aligned with her values: “The commitment to social responsibility made my work feel particularly meaningful, and it was fulfilling to know that our efforts were making a tangible difference in the lives of those we supported.”

Outside of work, both enjoyed their time in (Neu-)Ulm. Javiera shares, “These cities welcomed me with open arms.” Andrés adds, “[…] I fully recommend this experience for any entrepreneur or student looking to develop innovative ideas while living in Ulm, an amazing city in Germany that is really welcoming to international students.”

2023: One Moment (OM) Luxury Fashion is a social start-up working with minorities to build an international luxury fashion brand. During his time as an intern there, Rolin acted as project manager for the implementation of a social media presence. He was responsible for creating the business account, but also for developing appealing content. In addition to his role as a copywriter and graphic designer, he also took on market research tasks. Rolin describes his time as follows: „During this internship at OM, I was able to witness my growth and development first-hand. This time at OM served as a catalyst for acquiring a range of international skills that are crucial for the future. Through all the different tasks and responsibilities, I have gained a well-rounded knowledge that goes beyond traditional classroom learning.“ Alpin also worked as a project manager. He coordinated the processes involved in the creation of websites, marketing campaigns and sales initiatives. He also took the lead on a comprehensive website improvement project, which included both an aesthetic upgrade and optimisation of the user experience. He concludes: „Looking back, my journey has been an exciting mix of challenges that have culminated in triumphs worth celebrating. The relentless pace of the startup ecosystem has given me a sense of resilience and innovative thinking. It was an indescribable experience to witness a project evolve from conception to realisation. Would I recommend this trip to others? Definitely. The variety of tasks, the opportunity to take on projects and the mentoring from experienced experts are invaluable for people who want to get a taste of startup life.“ All interns appreciated the dynamic start-up landscape in the Founders Space at HNU, which encourages innovation and collaboration as well as working in great teams. They emphasised that they were able to develop personally as well as learn a lot professionally and culturally. The intercultural experience strengthened their skills in working with diverse teams and opened up new career perspectives for them.
